SAGITTARIUS - SCORPIO LOVE COMPATIBILITY
What are the chances of success of a Sagittarius-Scorpio love match? How compatible are Sagittarius and Scorpio emotionally and sexually – and what are their relationship strengths and challenges?
For sure, there are some big differences between Scorpio and Sagittarius due to the conflicting Water-Fire combination – the former basically being quite sensitive and guarded while the latter tends to be much more ebullient and direct.
Nevertheless – probably because they're next-door neighbors in the Zodiac – consecutive Sun Signs like Scorpio and Sagittarius are traditionally considered to have quite a good level of love compatibility and a reasonable chance of understanding each other and getting on.
There’s a surprising ability to tolerate each other’s contrasting way of going about things, and they can generally relate to one another’s weak points, which each can help the other to overcome. Sagittarius, for example, can often sympathize with Scorpio’s insecurities and reluctance to accept change, encouraging it to be a little less fixed and a little more adventurous. In turn, steady Scorpio can help Sagittarius to
overcome its restlessness, become more focused, and develop more persistence.
In a live-in relationship, however, the watery Scorpion's secrecy, defensiveness and brooding intensity don't always sit comfortably with the fiery Archer's forthright openness and cheery optimism. When the chips are down, a mutual tendency towards cruel bluntness can lead to some very heated rows, with Scorpio usually coming out on top since – unlike the impatient Sagittarian – it never gives up until it's won.
SAGITTARIUS-SCORPIO EMOTIONAL COMPATIBILITY
Emotionally, Sagittarius and Scorpio have very little in common!
Sagittarius is quite straightforward and open, always ready to look on the bright side and take a few chances in life. Scorpio tends to be much more suspicious and careful, much slower to trust, and doesn’t easily reveal its private feelings. While Sagittarius wants to be emotionally free and uncommitted, Scorpio gets strongly attached to, and can be very possessive, of loved ones. Scorpios thrive on exploring deep and complex emotions, but Sagittarians tend to shy away from ‘dark’ and painful feelings they can’t easily laugh off or philosophize away.
In the best case scenario, Sagittarius’s positivity and joviality can cut through the more troublesome aspects of Scorpio’s emotional intensity, helping the Water sign to snap out of its notoriously dark and lingering moods more quickly. But in the worst case scenario the Fire sign’s tendency to gloss over – or even make fun of – serious emotional issues its partner takes very seriously could give Scorpio the impression Sagittarius is totally lacking in empathy and create a rift that is hard to bridge.
SAGITTARIUS-SCORPIO SEXUAL COMPATIBILITY
Sexually, Sagittarius and Scorpio may be somewhat mis-matched initially. Sagittarius's wanderlust and cheery flirtatiousness can arouse jealous Scorpio's suspicions and resentment, while to the freedom-loving Archer, Scorpio can seem far too sexually demanding and controlling. For things to work between these two, Scorpio has to learn to lighten up a bit, while Sagittarius needs to show more sensitivity for the depth and vulnerability of the Water sign's powerful feelings.
SAGITTARIUS-SCORPIO COMPATIBILITY CHALLENGES
At the end of the day, Scorpio may have to accept that freewheeling Sagittarius will never fulfil its longing for an all-consuming love affair based on total surrender and unswerving commitment. Sagittarius may have to accept it will never fully understand the mysterious workings of its Scorpio partner’s heart and mind. But this doesn’t mean that Sagittarius and Scorpio can’t enjoy a perfectly okay relationship – just that they’ll have to try extra hard.
SAGITTARIUS-SCORPIO COMPATIBILITY SCORE: 5/10
